The essay, after some historical considerations, examines the constitutional structure of the State of Durango, also from a comparative perspective. Particular attention is devoted to the legal situation of indigenous peoples and the latest generation of fundamental rights. In terms of the organization of public authorities, the presidential form of government is especially analysed, in the comparison between the federal and state levels.
