The authorities in Eastern European countries – The essay examines the discipline of independent administrative authorities created in Eastern European countries after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of socialist regimes. The authorities in question were established by imitating Western models, for various reasons both internal and external to the countries concerned. The results - at least on paper - appear satisfactory, since the independent administrative authorities have autonomy, sometimes even recognized on the constitutional level. However, remains the possibility of a strong conditioning of executive power - at least in fact - on the concrete functioning of independent administrative authorities, in many of the countries examined.
