Abstract: The dynamics of the British Constitution in the light of the democratic rules within the parties. - In no constitutional order like the British Constitution we can find such a close relationship between the rules of internal democracy of political parties and the functioning of the form of government. In particular, the rules within the British parties on the selection of leadership, although significantly different from each other, all present themselves as functional to the characteristics of the form of government, providing to make their contribution to the linearity of the Westminster model. This essay aims to describe and interpret the rules of the three traditional national parties, highlighting the close constitutional correlations between leadership and premiership.
