Abstract: Democratic method, political parties, new technologies and legal bases for the processing of personal data: some food for thought – The entry into force of Regulation (EU) no. 679/2016 has deeply affected the personal data process, setting strict rules. This changed legal framework has produced direct and indirect consequences also on the “democratic method” of parties as well as in their internal activities, due to the new technologies’ increasing influence on democratic life. As the present essay will try to discuss, the possibility that incorrect process of voters or supporters’ personal data could affect individual rights and freedoms increases the party juridical responsibility in terms of respect for data treatments.
