Abstract: The right of property in Cuba: from Castro's revolution to the Constitution of 2019 – The essay aims at highlighting the basic features of the right of property in Cuba, trying to explain the evolution of this right in Cuban Statutes and Constitutions from Castro's revolution to current times. The author stresses the fundamental role played by State in shaping the right of property. The new Constitution, entered into force in 2019, recognizes the private property, but the real challenge is how to balance this type of property, which is only in subordinate position, the principles of Socialism and the property of the State.
