From Empire to Republic: Brazil between 1808 and 1889 – The essay aims at highlighting the characters of the Brazilian Empire from its beginning to the overthrow. The author examines the main features of the Brazilian Empire’s Constitution of 1824, the causes of the collapse of the Empire and the following effects of this event.
