Il Ministério Público nell’ordinamento giuridico del Portogallo

Abstract

The paper deals with the Ministério Público in the Portuguese legal system and focuses, particularly, on its characteristics, starting from its peculiar position in the constitutional structure, where it is disciplined within the framework dedicated to the Tribunals, while maintaining an autonomous dimension. The paper deals with the structure and the functions of the Ministério Público, with a particular focus on its role in the criminal proceedings, but also in it’s relations with other bodies and in the international and European fields.
