The enormous potentialities of Artificial Intelligence are clearly expressed also in the healthcare and medicine sector where AI instruments could improve diagnosis and care, by prompting rapid and automated responses to complex issues. Notwithstanding this potential, AI in medicine imposes serious ethical and legal evaluations, considering biases, lack of transparency as well as the impact of automation and algorithms not only on patients’ rights but also on the patient-doctor
relationship. The present paper aims at briefly presenting these challenges, highlighting the importance of an inter-disciplinary dialogue and a profound debate between different sciences and experts, in order to promote comprehensive legal solutions and innovative regulatory disciplines.
