One of the main disadvantages caused by the condition of insularity is the limitation of the freedom of movement for residents. The return of the principle of insularity in the Italian Constitution could help improve air transport services to the islands and their territorial cohesion. However, there are not explicit dispositions about the disadvantaged condition caused by insularity in the EU rules on air transport PSO.
