La parità di genere nella nuova Legge Fondamentale ungherese
Abstract
Abstract: The concept of gender equality in the Ungherian Fundamental Law – The article deals with the issue of gender equality and the compliance with the principles established by CEDAW in the Hungarian constitutional experience: from
the Soviet-inspired socialist state of the 1949 Constitution (as amended in 1972) to the liberal-democratic state of the 1989/90 Constitution, up to the recent illiberal involution of the 2011 Basic Law. The analysis of this last constitutional provision,
that from one revision to the next one has severely restricted the rule of law and the protection of the rights of the person as an individual and as an associate, has shown that gender equality rights are also being seriously violated.
