Abstract

Abstract: Protection of Vulnerable Persons – Vulnerable persons in Cuba had already been given protection to some extent in the Constitution of 1976. However, in this paper, after a necessary theoretical explanation related to the concepts of vulnerable persons and vulnerability from the legal point of view, the differences in assumptions and aims between the modalities of protection of the current Constitution and the previous one will emerge clearly. Finally, the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights concerning vulnerable persons will be examined to understand whether and how it could affect the Cuban system, even if Cuba is not subject to this regional jurisdiction.
