Abstract

Forms of territorial autonomy and experiences of asymmetric regionalism: comparative law considerations - The article identifies the main types of regionalism established in Europe and explores the ways in which the two alternative forms of regionalism became established in Italy and Spain: devolutionary the first, and contractual, the second. Finally, it draws attention to the difficulty of implementing a tertium genus between special and homogeneous regionalism in Italy.

Keywords: Relationship between types of regionalism and constitutional history; Special autonomy vs. asymmetric regionalism; Consonances and dissonances between Italy and Spain; The difficulties of revising regionalism
