This article is an introduction to the topic of the metamorphosis of citizenship in the context of the transformations of the contemporary State under the scrutiny of the migration phenomenon. Nowadays, citizenship is a symbol of equality as much as a marker of inequality within states. These elements are central to understanding the citizenshipmigration nexus and reflecting on the rethinking of the notion of citizenship.
