Abstract

Abstract: The arduous anabasis towards gender equality in the criminal law system. From the CEDAW General recommendations to the new Criminal Code’s offences – The article deals with the Convention of the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) by concentrating on the more relevant Recommendations in the field of criminal law such as rec. n. 12 and 19 on violence against women and rec. n. 14 on female genital mutilation. Then the A. analyses the three criminal offences most strictly related to the CEDAW recently introduced into the Italian Criminal Code: stalking, porn-revenge and forced marriage.
