Abstract

Abstract: The form of government in the evolution of Cuban constitutionalism – The paper addresses the changes that occurred in the Cuban form of government with the 2019 Constitution. Although the extent of these changes must be assessed in the medium-long term, also with regard to the actual relationship between institutions and political actors, it is useful to understand Cuban constitutional provisions on the form of government in historical perspective. This will allow to appreciate the constitutional changes by highlighting both the continuity and discontinuity with respect to the previous Cuban constitutions, especially in relation to the crucial aspect of concentration of power.
