This paper, starting from the case of the Coronavirus Act 2020, aims to analysing the use and application of sunset clauses as a tool of temporary legislation. In particular, the aim of this work is to verify how the use of sunset clauses has evolved over time and how, in the face of the pandemic emergency, it has proved to be a useful tool to counterbalance the centralisation of normative powers by the executive.
