The essay aims at highlighting the structure and powers of Consejo General del Poder Judicial, created by the Spanish Constitution for the purpose of guaranteeing the independence of the Judiciary from the other branches of Government. The author analyzes the many reforms of this body and the problems related to its constitutional task.
