Thirty years on the Supreme Court bench. Portrait, jurisprudence and controversies of Clarence Thomas – October 23rd 2021 will mark the 30th anniversary since Clarence Thomas officially became an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. First, a quick glance will be given to his nomination and confirmation process in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Then, a large analysis will be drawn on some of the most important issues of his legal thought and jurisprudence, both when he delivered the opinion of the Court and especially when he dissented or concurred. Finally, it will be highlighted how his (controversial) judicial philosophy has influenced the Supreme Court doctrine on some hot-button issues.
