Public Budgeting in Mexico's Democratic Transition
Abstract
The essay aims to describe the structure of the federal public budget and the process to approve it in Mexico. In the analysis of the three main steps of the budget process – preparation, delivery and parliamentary discussion – a special focus is offered about the relationship between Government and Parliament, in order to understand how it works in the democratic transition.
