Spatial inequalities, inequality of opportunity and social justice in the UK

Abstract

The article opens with a brief presentation of the inequality situation in the United Kingdom. Reference will be made to economic inequalities, but not only to them, above all to highlight how they affect the most relevant inequality from the point of view of rights and social justice, i.e. inequality of opportunities. Subsequently, the negative effects of the wide territorial gaps that characterize the United Kingdom on inequality of opportunities will be highlighted. Finally, we will indicate the policy interventions that could combat this inequality while also promoting economic growth and which could help to rebuild trust in politics.
