Abstract

General Elections of India 2019 proclamed the BJP’s landslide victory on Congress Party. This victory confirmed the importance of the charismatic leadership that, in a post-ideological historical era, becomes decisive for the electoral consensus. However, analyzing the electoral data of the last elections, the victory of the National Democratic Alliance coalition turns out to be less overwhelming than what appears, with a still strong political opposition. It depends on the first past the post electoral system.
