Abstract: The following paper aims to analyse recent normative innovations on the theme of corruption in Brazil, in light of the political events of the last few months. The analysis will start from 2015, when President Rousseff was impeached by the Senate and subsequently removed from office, following accusations of corruption and administrative misconduct. The paper analyses the effect of corruption in society and on the economic system and proposes a comparative study of the major innovations in anticorruption legislation and an in-depth analysis of impeachment between the European and the American models.
Keywords: Corruption; Impeachment; Brasil; Public ethics; Rousseff.
