Abstract
The paper focuses on some critical aspects linked to third-party reproduction, commercial surrogacy and stepchild adoption. The Author analyzes, in particular, the Mennesson case, the Labassee case and the Paradiso and Campanelli case, in which the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) established that the separation of a child from the family context is an extreme measure that should be used only in the very last resort. It further addresses same-sex couples' adoption.
