Abstract: This article analyses political communication in contemporary Russia within its legal and institutional framework, focusing on key developments shaping its current configuration. It examines election campaigning digital platforms, with attention to the regulation of online political communication and its growing connection with broader policies of digital sovereignty, information security and infrastructural resilience. The article argues that the governance of political communication has increasingly been incorporated into a wider administrative strategy aimed at managing the national information environment. It concludes by highlighting tensions and challenges arising from this regulatory approach and the need for a more balanced legal framework.
