Frontex and the protection of fundamental rights in the integrated border management – This contribution aims at analysing the current mandate of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency through the typical lens of administrative law and tries to propose an organic and coherent reading of the legal framework of reference. In reconstructing the process of Frontex’s creation and evolution, particular attention will be devoted to the growing obligations regarding fundamental rights, attempting to define more clearly the role of the Agency in ensuring their protection during operations. Through such an analysis, the contribution hopes to help clarify the roles that actors involved in border activities play.
