The contribution of CBDCS and distributed ledger technologies in the BRICS+ monetary cooperation - The paper summarizes the BRICS+ coordination on the economic-monetary level and highlights the latest progress established both at the 15th and the 16th Summits in Johannesburg and Kazan. Although the idea of a single currency does not currently appear to be a primary and doable concern, the BRICS+ countries are oriented toward a “common unit of account approach”. Moreover, by riding the CBDCs’ wave, all members intend to rely on the potentiality of Distributed Ledger Technologies to create a blockchain-based cross-border payment system. Finally, there is no shortage of thoughts regarding the dollar’s health and how these changes may reshape our current idea of globalization.
