Abstract

Value and potentialities of the BRICS project in times of global uncertainties: introductory remarks - In these introductory remarks the Author seeks to offer some considerations on the BRICS cooperation, by examining its evolution but also the broader context in which the BRICS Countries are operating. Looking at different historical episodes, the Author highlights the uniqueness of the current “uncertainty” and raises key questions about the role BRICS could play in shaping a “new normal”, a “new order”, and a renewed global governance. Whether the BRICS project will ultimately be seen as a myth, a failed effort, or a successful (re)action to modern global shifts, remains to be seen.
