From Asymmetry to (Partial) Confederality: Deviation of the Spanish System - The following pages describe a process of transformation in the territorial organisation of the Spanish State: one that goes from a constitutionally recognised asymmetry (specifically, some “historical rights”) to a system that goes beyond federalism and takes on clearly confederal overtones. With the particularity that this takes place without ceasing to remain such territory to the State (even when its objective is self-determination with respect to the latter) and with the necessary contribution to this process of the two major national parties (socialist and conservative). A unique formula that, like some previous ones, once again has its origin in the laboratory that the Spanish constitutional system seems to become for this question every few decades.
