Supranational regional courts and multilevel environmental protection: the European Court of Human Rights and the Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos in the Anthropocene era - The Anthropocene requires a comprehensive rethinking of Environmental Law, including the strengthening of integration mechanisms between various Constitutional and Supranational Jurisdictions. Within the multi-level framework of environmental protection, the fundamental right to a healthy environment stands out. This contribution thus aims to investigate the dialogue between the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) in protecting the right to a healthy environment, also examining the circulation of legal tools among constitutional judges as a result of the rulings of supranational judges. In the Latin American context, the protection of the human right to a healthy environment falls within the categories developed both by the Corte Interamericana and the National Courts, to strengthen the protection of indigenous peoples. Although the CIDH shows a more strictly rights-based approach, the jurisprudence of the ECHR seems to converge on the idea of the indivisibility of the right to a healthy environment from first-generation human rights (KlimaSeniorinnen, Duarte). The role of environmental principles in multi-level environmental law will be analysed to assess their potential function as connectors between jurisdictions, capable of stimulating dialogue between human rights Courts, which is necessary to address the problems of the Anthropocene Era.
