The fourth Malian Republic: analysis of a divisive Constitution

Although the new Malian Constitution which came into force in 2023 introduces some important innovations regarding the regulation of rights and in the judicial field, numerous critical aspects remain. In particular, the new Constitution significantly expands presidential powers, limiting those of the new bicameral Parliament. Given this context, this article aims to analyze the constitutional reform, in light of the historical and social events that have characterized the country for over two decades.
