Abstract

The USA uses two European NATO bases, Ramstein in Germany and Sigonella in Italy, for the control and take-off of drones towards Africa and the Middle East Asia. The intervention proposed here, starting from the analysis of the targeted killing operations mentioned, intends to investigate whether, in light of the constitutional models of Italy and Germany, the activities carried out with drones taking off from the bases of these States, commanded by the Americans, present critical issues in relation to the protection of rights, in particular the right to life, investigating profiles of responsibility of the European States of departure for the massacres of civilians carried out in operations conducted by the Americans.
