A commentary of the last case in the politicization of constitutional justice in Spain – The article addresses the constitutional crisis unfolding in Spain following the arm wrestling between the parliamentary majority and the Constitutional Tribunal over the proposed legislative reform intended to amend the appointment mechanisms for the General Council of Judiciary and the Constitutional Tribunal. By highlighting the governmental intention to remedy the deadlock that resulted from the inability of parliamentary majority and minority to strike a compromise concerning the election of members of the General Council of Judiciary, the article discusses the progressive politicization of constitutional justice in Spain and its consequences on the legitimation of this institution.
