Abstract

On 2009 Iceland applied for EU membership during a period of economic crisis. After few years the Government suspended accession negotiations and on 12 March 2015 the Foreign Minister sent a letter to EU withdrawing the application for membership without the approval of the Icelandic Parliament. The article aims to examine the effects of the withdrawal on the Icelandic form of government.
