Abstract

This foreword is entirely devolved to the political, cultural, and even human background of the drafting of  ‘A New Britain’, the huge paper better known as the Brown Report and issued in 2022 by the Commission on the UK Future chaired bt the former Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The Report shaped the transition from the failure of the Labour leadership of the radical Jeremy Corbyn to the new reformist Head of Opposition Keir Starmer, and, by laying the grounds of the political manifesto that led Labour to win the recent general election of July 2024, opened new straight connections among the values of reforms in the constitutional, economic and social values that was unprecedented in the post-thatcherite tory executives that ruled Britain since 2010. By  summarizing the political story of Gordon Brown as a member of the British UK government from the years of the earlier Labour Party’s ‘tartanisation’  until the present and very active contribution to a  challenging “New-New Labour”  constitutional project, a steady contribution to Brown’s reform commintents are seen as the most apparent feature of a meaningful political career, where the valuable support given to the “New Britain” Commission may explain how far the development of the may drive the United Kingdom toward a new constitutional environment.
