Abstract

In the countries of the former Soviet space, difficulties experienced in the state-building processes, instability and security issues led to a general hyper-regulation of the regimes of exception, i.e. “derogatory legal regimes” set out to face situations that can alter the constitutional order, threatening its continuity or existence. This paper aims to reconstruct the extremely complex normative framework regulating regimes of exception in Ukraine and to analyse the implementation of constitutional and legislative provisions on exception in the context of Russia’s large-scale aggression.
