The New European Pact on Migration and Asylum and the rights of foreign minors between solidarity and security - The regulatory management of migration phenomena requires a multi-level approach, both within individual national legal systems and between the various States within the European Union. This approach must address, on one hand, the interest in securing the borders of States and the EU, and, on the other hand, respect the principle of solidarity. The dialectic between these two needs emerges in the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, which, while aimed at promoting European solidarity and preventing secondary movements of migrants, has raised numerous criticisms from human rights organizations. Specifically, questions have been raised as to whether the measures set out in the New Pact ensure the protection of the rights of migrant minors.
