Presidential Control over the Federal Administration through Appointment and Removal Powers: The First 100 Days of Donald Trump’s Second Term – The article examines the use of presidential appointment and removal powers during Donald Trump’s second term, focusing on their impact on the constitutional balance between the Presidency and the federal administration. Special attention is devoted to removals within independent agencies and the ensuing litigation, which has reopened debate on the limits of executive authority. The essay also considers the early wave of Senate-confirmed appointments and key institutional developments, such as the creation of the DOGE and the proposed reinstatement of Schedule F, within the broader framework of the Unitary Executive Theory and the evolving strain on separation of powers.
