The article aims to investigate the prospects of the Italian pacifist principle in the light of a new world conflict. In particular, an attempt is made to highlight the constitutional relevance of the repudiation of war by discouraging interpretations aimed at downplaying the absoluteness of the quest for peace. Only the recognition of the incisiveness of constitutional provisions can guarantee the invulnerability of the pacifist principle. In this context, the reflections end by criticising the most recent interventions of the Italian government that ordered arms to be sent to the Ukrainian authorities during the conflict with Russia.
