The integration between Science and Law as regards ICU Admission during the Covid-19 Crisis

Abstract

This paper considers a report published by SIAARTI (the Italian medical association for anesthesia, analgesia and intensive care therapy) concerning the admission of patients into ICU therapy during the Covid-19 crisis. The scope of this paper
does not permit to address the overall implications of questions raised, but some elements are outlined referring to the manner in which the link between science and law should be taken into account in a constitutional study of this report. In particular, one can see the importance of the relationship between medical ethics and the Constitution, and the relevance of certain scientific medical data.
