Parliaments, Courts and territorial structure of the State: the United Kingdom between Brexit and devolution
Abstract
The paper deals with the peculiar nature of the devolution process within the United Kingdom, highlighting how it diverges from the centripetal tendency that was underlying the birth of the modern country in the early XVIII century. The arising tension between Westminster and territorial Parliaments creates cleavages that Brexit might enlarge, thereby affecting the British territorial constitution.
